Sam Cheung

Retired physician, educated in Hong Kong, US and UK. In HK, he worked as an internist. After training in neurology from University of Wisconsin, he practised in Ontario, Canada until retirement in 2008.

When he lived in Hainan, he visited extensively in southwestern China as a volunteer in a HK-based charity organization. He has worked with over 50 rural schools in Guizhou in student aid, school reconstruction, and library projects.


David Chow

Born in Shaoxing, China. Educated in Hong Kong and Taiwan before earning Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Washington. Worked in the fields of heat transfer devices, water treatment chemicals, papermaking, imaging, and water quality testing industries. Experience emphasized product and technology development based on end-use requirement, market survey, and engineering process improvement.

Current interest is in instrumentation for measuring collective water pollutants.


Chan-Ji Lai

Adjunct Professor in retirement, Hydraulics and Ocean Engineering Department, Cheng-Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Birmingham University, England. His teaching and research career involved broad field in engineering applications of experimental and computational fluid mechanics. He led investigation in NCKU Hydraulic Laboratory for a mega-environmental assessment project. As a visiting scientist at Applied Physics Lab., Univ. of Washington, he contributed a river remote sensing technique.

His current interest is on wetland topics.


Joseph Lau

Retired clinical psychologist, borned in Hong Kong, and earned M.A. From Columbia Univ.  He worked in the Department of Health of the Hong Kong SAR for over 30 years. He conducts private part-time practice and serves as a teaching consultant at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
He has been involved in volunteer work in the local community, Yunnan and Shaanxi with HK-based charity organizations.  He has worked mainly with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and emotional/behavioral difficulties.


Ching-Jiang Lee

Retired engineer; lives in Calgary, Canada.
B.Sc. in Chemical Engineeing & M.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering
Expertise in water chemistry, water/wastewater treatment processes & technologies. Experienced in water quality monitoring & control measures with industrial wastewater systems.
A dedicated volunteer in social services.
Knowledgeable on air pollution, and solid-waste management & control issues & tools, plus auditing environmental-protection related systems.


Louis Lee

Born & reside in Hong Kong,Louis earned B.S. in Chemical Eng. from Univ. of British Columbia before he received his MSc in Environmental Eng. from HK Univ. of Science and Technology in 2003.
Started in Good Manufacturing Practice in pharmaceutical facility setup project since 2002, Louis has practical experience and interest in clean-room and water system design, installation and commissioning/validation. He works in a biotechnology company in HK on various facility setup project and plant engineering maintenance effort.

Louis is a member of H K Institution of Engineer and receives Project Management Professional standing from Project Management Institute. He worked in Quality Management System auditing and was a provisional auditor in 2007 from IRCA.


Roger Leung

After B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, he earned Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Washington. Taught at Hong Kong Polytechnic University before joining Allied-Signal, then Honeywell Inc. A 30-year veteran in new product development and commercialization of microelectronic and ceramic materials. Published 20+ scientific papers and held 80+ US and international patents. In 1994, R&D Magazine selected his invention of advanced ceramic composites among the 100 most technologically significant new products of the year. Before retirement in 2013, Honeywell elevated him into its Hall of Inventors. He now serves as consultant in microelectronic and photovoltaic areas.

Moreover, he led a San Francisco Bay area charity organization, growing it from start-up to currently serving hundreds of special need individuals.


Ming Liu

Born in Taipei. Educated in Taiwan, Japan & Canada. Received Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of British Columbia in 1973. Worked as engineer in BC Research, Weyerhaeuser USA & Syncrude Canada, in the fields of air pollution abatement & energy conversion technologies until 1984. Started and ran a successful import-export company until retirement in 1997. Practiced detailed planning.

Now based in Vancouver, B.C., he is a consultant in China, Japan & Taiwan in engineering & management for productivity gain.


Thomas Mang

A Certified Public Accountant licensed in California and a member of the California Society of CPAs. Received bachelor degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and have worked for over 30 years in accounting and taxation fields. His clients include small to medium businesses, individual to corporations, covering institutional, commercial, industrial, professional, financial, and not-for-profit sectors, throughout USA and abroad.


Larry Mang

An expert in IT security software, with over 14 years of experience in consulting, selling and running business in hi-tech industry.
In 2015, he founded SZBOWEB, a value-added Database scanning outfit in HK/China with clients including HK Stock Exchange, Shanghai Future Exchange and People’s Bank of China. In 2011, he founded Egoseal System in Shenzhen, specialized in developing an information hiding software system; it passed inspection from Public Security of China. Moreover, Egoseal system defeated Microsoft’s Rights Management RS in a professional field contest.

Born in Shaoxing, B.S. in Computer Science and Accounting Finance, U. of Manitoba, M.S.in Information Security , Chinese Univ. of HK, he is enthusiatic about charity, particularly on water pollution control.


Yan Meng

Born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, earned B.S. Dalian University of Technology, Chemical Engineering ;M.S. Zhejiang University, Biochemical Engineering.
Worked on the marketing and factory management for 2 years in Sinochem Lantian group ( http://en.sinochemlt.com).
Founded own company 绍兴山海原环境科技有限公司 in 2013, now focusing on industrial wastewater treatment, especially for dyeing industry. (The market size of dyeing industry wastewater treatment in Shaoxing is about 3 billion RMB)

The Company provides equipment, technology and installation; emphasis is about post-sales service and long-term operation of water treatment facilities.


Kwong-Ting Tam

Retired from 28 year career at Printed Circuit Board Group (a Hong Kong Public Listed Company) as Vice-President, Quality. Before that, he did chemical engineering work in Macau Coca-Cola Bottler and water chemical analysis in Institute of Environmental Sanitation in Taiwan. His expertise is in quality assurance. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a Chemical Engineering degree.

Living in Hong Kong, he has strong interest in water pollution control.


Clement Tam

Clement earned his MSc in Environmental Sciences from University of East Anglia, UK in 2016 after a bachelor degree in Earth Sciences from University of Hong Kong.
In a top engineering consulting firm, he accumulates experience in natural terrain landslip hazard evaluations, geotechnical investigation (e.g. borehole logs interpretation, engineering geology mapping, slope stability analysis), and in Geographical Information System related analysis.
Now living in London, Clement has strong interest in water pollution control and contaminated land issues.


Li-Hua Tang

Born in Ningxia, China; graduated from Wuzhong Vocational Technical College in Ningxia.

Since 2000, it has worked in water treatment, and cares about public interest.

After founding Foshan HaiDeNeng Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., he and his company participated in the improvement of medical field water treatment in more than 100 hospitals in Guangdong, and participated in the drinking water project of Guangdong military area.

His company provides water purification equipment of both small and large scales, and pays attention to the operation quality of equipment and after-sale maintenance.


Binglou Wong

Born in China and raised in Hong Kong, Bing has more than 45 years of experience in the development of protein therapeutics in Biotechnology industry that involves various water purification applications.
A Chemical engineer (BS in National Taiwan Univ。) with specialty training in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering at Tufts Univ。 (MS & Ph.D.), Bing serves as Chief technology advisor and officer for New B Innovation (HK) limited and advises medical venture capitalists. Bing is also a Honorary Professor, School of Life Sciences of Chinese Univ. of HK; Chairman of the Advisory Committee, Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology of the HK Polytechnic Univ.. He is Vice Chairman of HK Biotechnology Organization and Board of Director of Advantek Biologics.
He has held more than 200 patents worldwide.


Vince Wong

Retired meteorological scientist from National Weather Services / National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), after weather prediction work at University of Oklahoma and NASA. Education includes B.S. from Chinese University of Hong Kong, M.S. from University of Washington, and PhD. from Florida State University. He has 43 publications; topics mostly pertaining atmospheric prediction.

He lives in Washington D.C area and is concerned about water pollution.


Joseph Wong

Chief Engineer and Advanced Water Treatment and Reuse Technology Leader of Brown and Caldwell, a leading environmental engineering firm. He has about 40 years of experience in drinking water and industrial water treatment, industrial and municipal wastewater treatment and reuse, and desalination. He directed the first successful major in-plant water reuse project for the worldwide petrochemical industry - also the first major water reuse project in Taiwan

After earning MS in Chemical Engineering from University of Washington, he became registered chemical and civil engineer in three states, and also a board certified environmental engineer. He has been actively leading committees in several American professional associations and served two terms as the president of Chinese American Environmental Professionals Association. He is the primary author of over 100 articles and technical papers, and four handbook chapters in the environmental field, plus a manual for American Water Works Association (a 320-page book)


Jerry Yu

A public-spirited resident in New York. Founder of Walrus Technology Inc. and an information technology veteran with extensive experience and expertise in software development. He worked in Verizon and investment banks for years. He graduated from Peking university and UMass Amherst.


Tsan-Ying Yuen

Over 40 years of experience in air pollution research and telecommunication systems, he earned B.Sc. in Physics from Chinese Univ. of H K and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from Univ. of Washington. He has worked for Cheng Kung Univ.,Taiwan, H K Environmental Protection Dept, and Texas A&M Univ., mostly in R&D of air pollution dispersion, monitoring, and control. Later his career shifted to telecommunications and computing technologies in Bell Communication Research, Motorola, General Dynamics, and AT&T Labs.

Currently he works for First Responder Network Authorities, or FirstNet (www.firstnet.gov), under Dept.of Commerce of U.S. federal government, to build a wireless communication network dedicated to emergency-responding firemen, policemen, and emergency medical staff.

He lives in Seattle,with abundant volunteer experience in community services.
